VIEZE ASBAK
Vieze Asbak is a Dutch DJ and producer who has rapidly become a notable figure in hard techno, blending powerful beats with humor in a genre which we could define "memetechno." He began in 2021, crafting tracks for friends that quickly gained traction on social media, leading to performances at iconic festivals like Tomorrowland, Sziget, and Lowlands. His viral remixes, such as "Meet Her At The Love Parade," and high-energy tracks like the sped-up version of "Friesenjung" have amassed him over 1.6 million monthly listeners on Spotify, with hundreds of thousands of streams on his popular releases.
His success led to collaborations with prominent artists, including Dutch rapper Joost Klein, and together they achieved a gold-certified hit in Germany with "Friesenjung." Additionally, Vieze Asbak has collaborated with artists such as Fantasm, Hades, Jazzy, and Oguz, bringing his distinctive sound into the work of others and helping shape the direction of meme-inspired techno.
To support this unique genre, Asbak co-founded the Pestcore Collective with fellow artists like Natte Visstick and Gladde Paling. The collective aims to preserve the playful, raw character of memetechno and has created a dedicated community. Pestcore’s events, like Pestival, are high-energy gatherings that showcase the genre's spirited and humorous approach, drawing a devoted fan base.
Known for intense live performances and a bold stage presence, Asbak's sound combines absurd samples, relentless kicks, and humor-infused techno that resonates with both traditional techno fans and mainstream listeners. With his unique style, Asbak has successfully bridged the world of techno with modern, digital-savvy audiences, solidifying his place as an influential and rising star in the electronic music scene.
